Selling at Carlsen Gallery

If you have property you wish to sell at auction:

You may bring your property or photographs directly to our gallery for auction estimates or advice on selling at auction. You may also have someone come directly to your home to evaluate property which you are considering selling. There is no charge for this service, but we request that you set up an appointment in advance.

If you decide that the auction forum does not suit your needs, please speak to a gallery representative to discuss the possibility of an outright purchase. We purchase collections, entire households, or single items. Please ask for more details.

All consignors are required to pay a commission. This commission rate varies depending on the type of merchandise consigned. The commission rate for the sale of your property is mutually agreed upon by yourself and the auctioneer at the time the merchandise is consigned. There are no other additional charges.

The consignor is given a listing of the merchandise taken into our property. The consignor is also asked to a sign a Consignment check form which states the terms and conditions under which the items will be sold.

Once the consigned items are in our care and custody, they are insured for loss, fire, theft, and breakage.

Consignors are not allowed to bid on their own merchandise. A consignor may be allowed to place a fair reserve on certain items at the auctioneers discretion.

Payment to the consignor, for items sold, is made in fifteen (15) business days after the auction.

Carlsen Gallery, Inc. will make every effort to maximize the potential return for you.
